Erden

Earth is a municipality in the district of Bernkastel -Wittlich, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality of Bernkastel- Kues. Earth is a nationally recognized tourist.

Geography

Geographical location

Earth is to the right of the Moselle and surrounded by vineyards, in the great loop of the river between Bernkastel -Kues and Traben- Trarbach, where the valley widens into a very flat adjoining the Hunsrück landscape. On the opposite side of the river climb steep slopes of the Eifel.

Spatial Planning

Neighboring towns are Loesnich and Zeltingen -Rachtig, opposite Ürzig. Nearest regional center is Bernkastel -Kues, about eight miles as the crow flies, and the county town of Wittlich in about ten kilometers. Trier is about 38 kilometers away.

Climate

History

La Tène and Roman times

Already around 500 BC settled the Treverians, a Celtic- Germanic mixed people, in Western and Central Europe. Celtic graves testify to this.
