Bausendorf

Bausendorf ( self-designation also Bausendorf - Olkenbach ) is a municipality in the district of Bernkastel -Wittlich, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Kröv - Bausendorf. Bausendorf is a nationally recognized tourist.

Geography

The resort Bausendorf with the district Olkenbach is protected at the foot of the extended Kondelwaldes in the lower Alftal. 55.4 percent of the district area is forested.

History

Around 1250, the chapel building village in the country chapter Kaimt ( Zell / Mosel) is mentioned in the list of Archbishop rights. The Simeonstift Trier bought in 1075 an estate in Olkenbach.

Beginning in 1794, Bausendorf under French rule, 1815, the place on the Congress of Vienna was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia. Since 1946 he is part of Rhineland- Palatinate then newly founded. The present municipality was created as part of the administrative reform by the merger of formerly independent local churches Bausendorf and Olkenbach on June 7, 1969.

Culture and sights

The St. Bartholomew Sanctuary Heinzerath in the district Olkenbach located on the banks of the Alfbaches. The residents of the nearby Eifel, Mosel and the middle of the Wittlicher Tales pilgrimage every year at harvest time to the Sanctuary Heinzerath.
