Travie McCoy
Travie McCoy ( born August 6, 1981 in Geneva, New York as Travis Lazarus McCoy ) is an American singer. He is the frontman of alternative hip- hop band Gym Class Heroes.
Career
McCoy was born the son of a Haitian. His mother is Irish / Filipino / Native American descent. He grew up in Geneva. In high school he met in 1997 in physical education his later bandmate Matt McGinley know. The two began to make music with others. From these activities, in 2001 the band Gym Class Heroes formed. After six studio albums together, he released his solo debut in summer 2010. McCoy is the ex-boyfriend of U.S. singer Katy Perry and the cousin of rapper Tyga. 2012 McCoy had a guest appearance on the sitcom Malibu Country.
