Tricity, Poland
The Tri-City ( Tricity Polish, Kashubian Trzëgard ) is an urban area in Poland with the three centers Gdańsk (Danzig), Gdynia ( Gdynia ) and Sopot ( Sopot ). These towns are very close to the Gulf of Gdansk (Baltic Sea) in the Province of Pomerania ( Pomeranian województwo ).
To the Greater Tri-City also has yet Wejherowo ( Neustadt in Westpr. ), Reda ( Rheda ) and Rumia ( Rumia ); these are called small Tricity.

In the Tri-City area, there are many educational institutions.

Traffic
The Tri-City has a well-developed common rail system. On top of each of their own public transport. It describes only the public transportation in the following.
In 1951, an S -Bahn ( Szybka Kolej Miejska w Trójmieście, SKM ) has been established. This comprised the entire region of Tczew about Gdansk, Sopot 1953, Gdynia 1956, Reda, Rumia to Wejherowo 1957.
The backbone of the road transport system is a multi-lane expressway from Danzig Sopot, Gdynia, Rumia and Reda to Wejherowo.
1975, a multi-lane ring highway was built, which runs from Pruszcz Gdański about Gdansk to Gdynia - Chylonia. An extension to Wejherowo is provided.
