Trinidad, Paraguay

Trinidad is a district in the department of Itapúa Paraguay. He is since 31 August 1966.

The origins go back to the year 1706, in which the Jesuit priest Juan de Anaya together with a group of people from the village of San Carlos founded the Jesuit reduction Santisima Trinidad del Paraná.

The district Trinidad extends over an area of 257 km ². In census 2002 6.873 inhabitants were counted, of which 2,417 (35% ) lived in the urban zone. He is surrounded by the neighboring districts Jesús, Hohenau, Nueva Alborada and Capitán Miranda.
