Trnavá Hora

Trnavá Hora ( until 1927 slovak also " Trhanová "; Hungarian Bezeréte - to 1892 Trnavahora ) is a town in central Slovakia with 1175 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011), which belongs to the kraj Okres Žiar nad Hronom, part of Banskobystrický.

Geography

The municipality is located on both sides of the river Hron in a narrow valley between the mountains in the north and the Kremnitz Selmec mountains in the south. The 24.5 km ² municipal area is largely covered by brown forest soils. The center is located at an altitude of 370 m nm and is eight kilometers from Žiar nad Hronom and 15 km away from Zvolen.

The municipality is divided into the vilage Jalna, Kľačany (both incorporated in 1971 ) and Trnavá Hora.

Due to the community run two railway lines, both north of the Hron: Nové Zámky - Zvolen in the valley and Zvolen - Diviaky ( up in the mountains ). The R1 expressway passes south of the river without a direct connection to the community.

History

The town was first mentioned in 1388 as Tornaua writing and was the site of a toll gate in the territory of the castle Sasov. After 1676, the village was under the administration of the mountain chamber. 1 After a tax list in 1534, there were 13 Porta, 1601 then 13 houses, a mill in 1715 and 12 taxpayers and finally in 1828 34 houses and 230 inhabitants.

Until 1918, belonged to the county located in the perch place the Kingdom of Hungary and was then Czechoslovakia and Slovakia today. During the Slovak National Uprising in late 1944, there was heavy fighting in the municipality between the insurgents and the German Wehrmacht.
