Tron Øgrim

Tron Ogrim [ tɾun øgɾim ] (* June 27, 1947 in Oslo, Norway, † 23 May, 2007 Oslo) was a Norwegian journalist, author and politician. He was from 1965 to 1973 in the Socialist Youth Union (later Red Youth) active from 1973 to 1984, he was a central figure in the Communist Workers Party. Ogrim wrote several political works as well as some science fiction novels. Particularly striking was at his style that he agreed even in a non-standard dialect in eastern Oslo cases where standardized Bokmål would have been appropriate.

Politics and Journalism

Ogrim in the 1960s and 1970s was one of the most influential people in the Norwegian Marxist-Leninist movement. He was one of the founders of the Norwegian Communist Party, which followed the policy of the Communist Party of China. Tron was also one of the most responsible for the founding of the newspaper class Kampen and the publishing house of October.

After he devoted himself to journalism after the 1980s and left politics, Ogrim had a technology column for the Norwegian edition of the PC world. Again, he fell on his working-class dialect. He also wrote science fiction novels, under the pseudonym Eirik Austey.

Tron Ogrim in Norway was one of the early proponents of the Internet and regularly gave lectures throughout Norway. As early as 1995 he stopped the Norwegian Parliament to establish an Internet presence, with the assertion that a democratic IT policy without politicians can not exist. Ogrim was a strong advocate of the open source movement. In his book Kvikksolv Tron Linux described as "applied communism." Tron also appeared on the Internet newsgroup Leftist Trainspotters with relevant and there published thousands of posts, many of them on political developments in Nepal.

Esperanto movement

Although he was a longtime member of the Norwegian Esperanto League, he never accepted any formal position in the organization. Tron Ogrim was known for his radio show Drømmen om the fullkomne språk ( The dream of a perfect language ) in the Esperanto movement. Beginning in 1989 addressed the mission of Linguistic Philosophy and planned or constructed languages ​​such as Esperanto or Volapük. Death

Ogrim was found on 23 May 2007 in Oslo from one of his three daughters died. The probable cause of death was a heart attack. At the memorial service spoke, inter alia, his younger brother Leikny Ogrim as well as the secretary of the Norwegian Esperanto League Douglas Draper.
