Tschlin

Tschlin (? [ Tʃlin ] / i; German and until 1943 officially Schleins ) is a village in the Swiss Lower Engadine, and until the end of 2012 a municipality in the district of Ramosch, District Inn.

On 21 October 2011, the separated, which meets community meetings of Ramosch and Tschlin agreed to a merger agreement that was approved in April 2012 by the cantonal parliament. Since January 1, 2013 means the merged municipality Valsot.

History

It has been inhabited since at least the 10th century. 1499 Tyrolean troops marched before after Tschlin, but could be moved from Duonna Lupa to retreat because they claimed that the Confederates marched on. During the Thirty Years' War, during the turmoil of the Grisons town took 1621/22 severely damaged by Austrian troops. 1854 Tschlin became an independent municipality.
