The Ziwil (Russian Цивиль, Chuvash Çавал ) is a right tributary of the Volga River in the European part of Russia. It runs in the northern reaches of the Volga heights. The (without his two source rivers ) 55 km long river built near Ziwilsk by the confluence of Maly and Bolshoi Ziwil Ziwil and flows east from Novocheboksarsk, shortly after the Tscheboksarsker Reservoir, in the Volga. Its catchment area covers 4690 km ². In the ice-free season from April to November, the Ziwil is navigable.

Big Ziwil

The 115 km long Great Ziwil (Russian Большой Цивиль ( Bolshoi Ziwil ), Chuvash Мăн Çавал ) is the left source of the river Ziwil. It rises north-east of Schumerlja in the Chuvash Republic.

Small Ziwil

The 129 km long Small Ziwil (Russian Малый Цивиль ( Maly Ziwil ), Chuvash Кĕçĕн Çавал ) springs near the settlement of Krasny Oktjabr in Rajon Wurnary in the Chuvash Republic.
