Tučapy (Uherské Hradiště District)

Tucapy ( German Tutschap, also Tuczap ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 11 km west of Uherské Hradiště and belongs to Okres Uherské Hradiště.

Geography

Tucapy is located in the southern foothills of the mountains Mars in Moravian Slovakia. The village is located at the output side of a valley on the hill Rovnina ( 357 m). To the east are the waste for Marc Hebene extensive vineyards.

Neighboring towns are Boršice in the north, Kostelany nad Moravou and Nedakonice in the east, in the southeast Polešovice, Vážany in the south, Újezdec the southwest, Medlovice in the west and Stříbrnice in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1131 in the foundation charter for the new church of St. Wenceslas in Olomouc by Bishop Henry Zdik. Until the 16th century consisted in Tucapy a fortress belonging to the three farms.

After the abolition of patrimonial regimes was 1848, the municipality in the district Tucapy Hungarian Hradisch. Tucapy belongs to the Moravian wine varieties. In the village of Slovak customs and costumes are kept. The village is also known for its annual masquerade ball and ceramic goods. The previous festivals today adorns the coat of arms of the town next to grapes.

  • Sacred Heart Chapel. From the location of the chapel, there is a wide view of the Dolnomoravský úval, the Moravian part of the Vienna Basin to the host and one Vizovice mountains, the White Carpathians and north to the mountains of Mars.
