Detective with witchcraft (Original Title: Tucker 's Witch ) is an American crime drama series that was produced 1982-1983 for the U.S. television network CBS.
Action
The couple Rick and Amanda Tucker runs a private detective agency in Laurel Canyon. Supported by her secretary Marsha Fulbright, they often work together in the person of Lieutenant Sean Fisk with the local police. What the detective differs from its competitors and the police, are the clairvoyant abilities Amanda, who is a witch. For budget of the Tuckers include Amanda's mother Ellen and the house cat Dickens, who acts as Amanda medium. Your comedy draws the series from the contrast of Rick's thorough approach as an investigator and the sometimes unreliable visions Amanda.
Background
The pilot episode of the series was produced under the working title The Good Witch of Laurel Canyon with Art Hindle and Kim Cattrall in the lead roles. However, this was never aired. After the renewal of the series title was changed. In the twelve produced episodes had guest appearances, among others, Barry Corbin, Ted Danson, Joe Penny and Noble Willingham.
The German premiere took place in 1990 on Sat.1, where, however, only eight of the twelve episodes were seen the night before. The following year, the broadcast already on Sat.1 episodes were repeated on ProSieben and sent two additional consequences.
