Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche

Biography

Tulku Urgyen established several monasteries and retreat centers in Nepal. The most important of these institutions in the area around Kathmandu are in Boudhanath, the place of the great stupa at the cave of Asura, where Padmasambhava manifested the Mahamudra Vidyadhara level, and at the Swayambhunath Stupa. He lived most of the time in the hermitage of Nagi Gompa dominates the valley of Kathmandu.

Tulku Urgyen was not a monk. Four of his six sons were recognized as tulkus: Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche ( Gar than 7 Drubchen ) Tsikey Chokling Rinpoche ( recognized by the 16th Karmapa as a Tulku of Chokgyur Lingpa and enthroned ), Drubwang Tsoknyi Rinpoche ( the 16th Karmapa as the Tulku Drubwang Tsoknyi recognized ) and the 7th Mingyur Rinpoche Yongey ( recognized by the 16th Karmapa and Dilgo Khyentse of ).

Tulku Urgyen In 1980, accompanied by his eldest son, Chokyi Nyima a major international trip to Europe, the United States and Southeast Asia. Many teachings were given to Dzogchen and Mahamudra. Since that time, a seminar in the Ka- Nying Shedrub Ling monastery was given to general meditation, Dzogchen and Mahamudra in conjunction with the view of Madhyamaka annually.

His reincarnation wants to have with the four- year-old son of Chokling Rinpoche found in March 2006 (known as Chokling of Neten, not to be confused with Tulku Urgyens son who Chokling of Tsikey is ). He lives in the village of Bir in Himachal Pradesh and is called Urgyen Jigme Rabsel.
