Tullio Pinelli

Tullio Pinelli (* June 24, 1908 in Turin, † March 7, 2009 in Rome ) was an Italian novelist and screenwriter.

Life and work

Pinelli was involved from 1944 to the development of neo-realism and also worked surrealist themes. He had initial success in collaborating on screenplays as well as plots and scene templates for films of various Italian directors such as Mario Soldati, Alberto Lattuada, Roberto Rossellini, and others. Later Pinelli worked on subjects and templates for feature films and has written numerous screenplays, where he was often employed as a co -author.

He became famous for his long-standing collaboration with Federico Fellini in several scenarios, such as for the Fellini movies La strada, Le notti di Cabiria and La dolce vita. Pinelli also collaborated with numerous other directors, such as Pietro Germi and Mario Monicelli.

Pinelli was with the French actress Madeleine Lebeau (* 1923) who married in such films as 8 ½ and Casablanca had small roles.
