Tumbes (Region)

The Tumbes Region (Spanish: Región Tumbes, Quechua Tunpis suyu ) is a region in northwestern Peru. Covering an area of ​​4657 km ² 173 604 people live. The capital is Tumbes.

Geography

The region is bordered to the west by the Pacific Ocean to the north and east and Ecuador to the south by the Piura region.

The landscape is flat. The major port cities are Zorritos and Puerto Pizarro.
