Tunturi Lapland

Fjell Lapland (Finnish Tunturi - Lappi, Lappi - Duoddar Northern Sami ) is the name of one of six administrative Communities ( seutukunta ) in Finnish Lapland landscape. It includes the extremely sparsely populated north-west Lapland. To manage community include four communities, which together have a population of around 14,000. With a total area of 21310.3 km ² this gives a population density of only 0.7 inhabitants per square kilometer.

It is often spoken of Fjell Lapland as a great landscape of Lapland. This is not congruent with the official management community, but refers to the northern part of Finnish Lapland, in which predominates the Fjell- vegetation.
