Turek County
The powiat Turecki is a powiat ( county ) in the Polish province of Wielkopolska. The county has an area of 929.40 km ² in which 83 646 inhabitants. The population density is 90 inhabitants / km ² ( 2004).

Name
The Polish name of the district is derived from the name of the city Turek. Otherwise, the Polish word means Turecki Turkish to German. The city Turek called after the original (Polish Tur ), an extinct in the 17th century Wild Cattle.
