Turkey women's national volleyball team

The Turkish national volleyball team of women is a selection of the best Turkish players who Türkiye voleybol Federasyonu represented in international tournaments and international matches.

History

World cup

2006, the Turks began participating in a volleyball World Cup and occupied the tenth. In the next World Cup, the Turks were ranked number six.

Olympic games

Turkey is represented at the 2012 Olympic Games in London for the first time. In the qualifying tournament in Ankara, the Turkish women won all five games, including against Vice European Champion and World Champion Germany Russia.

European

The first participation in a European Volleyball Championship, the Turks in 1963 tenth. Four years later it was enough despite home advantage only for twelfth place. The same result there were in 1981. In the tournaments in 1989 ( Eleventh ) and 1995 ( ninth ), the results were better. 2003 subject to the Turkish women as host until the final against Poland. At the European Championships in 2005, 2007 and 2009 they were sixth, tenth and sixth again. A bronze medal was added in Serbia / Italy in the European Championship 2011.

World Cup

Turkey increased in 2003 for the first time at the World Cup in part and finished seventh.

World Grand Prix

At the World Grand Prix 2008, the Turkish women occupied the seventh place and narrowly missed the final round. In her second participation to the World Grand Prix 2012, the team finished in third place.
