Tuxertal

View over Lanersbach end of the valley at Hintertux

The valley is located in Tyrol, Austria, and is a side valley of the Ziller Valley, from which it branches off in Mayrhofen. Overall, it is about 13 km long and traffic- developed by the Tuxerstraße. From Mayrhofen ( 630 m above sea level. A. ) to the place Tux, Hintertux or ( 1,500 m), which is also the name of the valley, there is a height difference of about 850 m. The valley ends in Hintertux Hintertux glacier.

The Tuxbach, which rises on Tuxerjoch flows below Finkenberg in the Zemmbach which opens in Mayrhofen in the Ziller.

The bottom represents the boundary between the Tux ( orographic left, foreground ) and the Zillertal Alps ( orographic right in the photo left and background) dar.

Places

In the Tux Valley are (from the valley to the beginning of ) the five Tux districts Hintertux ( 1500m), Madseit ( 1,385 m), Jun's ( 1,360 m), Lanersbach ( 1,300 m), Vorderlanersbach ( 1,300 m) and the community Finkenberg ( 840 m).

The valley is the only way to come to the Hintertux glacier by road and cable car.
