Tyler Cuma

Tyler Cuma ( born January 19, 1990 in Bowmanville, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player on the position of the defender, who stands in July 2009 at the Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League under contract and currently for their farm team, the Houston Aeros, in the American Hockey League.

Career

Cuma was in the OHL Priority Selection selected 67 's in the first round by the Ottawa 2006. The defensive defenseman played four seasons for Ottawa in the Ontario Hockey League. The first season was still mixed with a plus / minus statistic of -8 and 19 scorer points in 63 games. In the second season Cuma 's breakthrough. He scored 32 points scorer with a plus / minus stats by 4. As a result, Cuma was selected in the first round of the NHL Entry Draft 2008 23 position of the Minnesota Wild. The 2008/09 season ended for Cuma in December 2008 after only 21 games since a knee injury for him meant the end of the season. In July 2009 he signed a contract with the Minnesota Wild entry for three years. It was the defender jumping into the NHL squad of wild denied and for the entire season, he was again sent to the Ontario Hockey League for the Ottawa 67 's.

For the 2010/11 season the defensive player in the squad of the Houston Aeros, a farm team of the Minnesota Wild, in the American Hockey League was taken. But again, he could miss the entire season without injury, so in February 2011, the season was ended prematurely for him, after Cuma had suffered a cruciate ligament injury and reiterates knee problems.

Cuma participated with the Canadian national team at the U18 World Youth Championship 2008. During the tournament, he came in all seven games of Canadians used and won with the team the gold medal.
