Tyrifjorden

The lake is located south of the city Hønefoss and has four large main arms: Nordfjord ( North-West), Steins Fjord ( north-east, with numerous islands ), Holsfjord (southeast) and Storfjorden ( southwest), which is connected to the located south of Vikersund Nachbarsee Bergsjø. The greatest depth of 330 meters, achieved in the Tyrifjord Holsfjord. Near the entrance to Holsfjord is the small island of Utøya, which in 2011 was the scene of a mass murder on July 22.
