Ueli Maurer (cryptographer)

Ueli Maurer (born Ulrich Martin Maurer, born May 26, 1960 in Leimbach ) is a Swiss cryptographer. He is professor of cryptology at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich.

Maurer studied electrical engineering at ETH Zurich and received his PhD in 1990. Thereafter, he worked for the Princeton University as a postdoctoral fellow until 1992, he accepted an assistant professor of computer science at ETH Zurich.

In a relevant publication he was able to show that the Diffie- Hellman problem and computing discrete logarithms under certain conditions are equivalent.

Currently, Mason is the editor of the Journal of Cryptology.
