Uğur Dündar

Uğur Dündar ( born January 1, 1943 in Silivri, Istanbul) is a Turkish journalist for the daily newspaper Sözcü.

Biography

Uğur Dündar in 1943 in the village Akören, which is part of Silivri, born. He attended the Vefa High School in Eminönü. After that, he studied journalism at the Faculty of Economics of Istanbul University.

In 1970 he passed the entrance examination as a television presenter on TRT. In the same year he took part in the course of production and management in the BBC television. After returning to Turkey, he worked until 1990 at TRT as a producer, director and presenter. He was also a journalist on the side of the Turkish daily newspaper Hürriyet.

From 1990 to 2008 he was a television presenter on Channel D and was familiar with the discussion and policy program Arena, which still exists today and is sent on Star TV.

In 1978 he was awarded the Sedat - Simavi - Vakfi price. In 1994 he was awarded his report on the Turkish mafia organ at the New York Film Festival with the Finalist Award.

He is married and father of four children.

Article in the Turkish newspaper Cumhuriyet According to a Dündar has been dismissed because of the continuing pressure by the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's presidential Tens of television channel Star TV.
