Under The Mountain is a New Zealand film from 2009, based on the novel by Maurice Gee. Directed by Jonathan King. The special effects of the fantasy thriller comes from Weta Workshop. 1982, the matter had already been filmed as eight -part television series directed by Chris Bailey.

Action

The twins Rachel and Theo come to Auckland to stay after the sudden death of her mother with relatives. Between them there is a telepathic connection. When her aunt and uncle Cliff, the twins encounter a creepy old house. Meet Mr. Jones, an alien, the Lord of Fire. He revealed to them that only twins can stop the occupation of Earth by the banned under the earth's surface aliens.

Criticism

" " Under the Mountain "is a film without proper highlights. The actors are uninspired or simply overworked, the effects are well done and the story can not bind so right. For a young audience a little too dark, just too generic for an older audience to " Under the Mountain " is, at best, for an uneventful Sunday afternoon, without ever being able to convince properly.
