Uniqa Insurance Group

The UNIQA Insurance Group AG (short: Uniqua, Uniqua formerly Insurance Ltd; official spelling: UNIQA Insurance Group AG) is the parent company of one of the largest Austrian insurance groups, the UNIQA Group ( official spelling: UNIQA Group). The Company operates as an administrative and indirect business sales organization for the operating insurance companies of the Group and is the central reinsurer. The corporate headquarters is located in Uniqua Tower in Vienna.

The UNIQA Group, operates around 40 insurance companies operating in 19 European countries as an insurer and has more than 9.3 million customers (as of March 2014). In fiscal 2012, the UNIQA Group employed an average of around 14,800 employees and had a volume of more than 4.8 billion euros in insurance premiums. As of 31 December 2012, the Group's total assets amounted to 30.037 billion euros.

History

The company evolved in 1999 from the Barclays Insurance Holding AG by the insurance company of the Austrian provinces and the Austria-Collegialität were merged. Raiffeisen Versicherung AG is now a 100 % owned subsidiary of UNIQA.

2003, the former subsidiaries of Axa in Austria, Hungary and Liechtenstein were taken.

In a ranking by Forbes Magazine the world's largest public companies in the year 2013, the UNIQA insurance is ranked 1372nd

In October 2013, Serbia and Croatia Bāloise business was acquired for € 75 million, which the existing business of Uniqua is strengthened in these countries.

Bundesländer-Versicherung

The Insurance Institute of the Austrian provinces AG was founded in 1922. She took over the stock of some Lower Austrian companies and other institutions; she ran all lines of insurance. In June 1997, was celebrated with a ceremony in Vienna's Musikverein hall of the 75-year existence of the company. The company's traditional name should disappear from the public, however, soon. 1997-99 were Bundesländer- Versicherung and Austria - Collegialität the Barc Insurance Holding AG, which merged in the UNIQA Insurance AG. The administrative building of the states insurance in Vienna Leopoldstadt, Prater Road 1, functioned from 1999 to 2004 as the headquarters of the UNIQA Group and was then demolished; was built here by 2010 the UNIQA hotel and commercial buildings.

Austria-Collegialität Austrian Versicherung AG was from 1991 to 1997, existing insurance companies, ( with precursors going back to 1860 ) and Collegialität (founded in 1899) that was created by the merger of Austria.

Capital increase in 2013

In October 2013, the UNIQA Group increased its share capital. There were 88 million new shares plus 6.65 million over-allotment shares issued, which earned 757 million euros in gross proceeds. The free float increased from 6.9 to 35.4 percent previously.

From 1 January 2002 to 30 June 2011, Konstantin Klien was general manager. Since July 1, 2011 acts Andreas Brandstetter (* 1969) as CEO.

Criticism

In 2002, UNIQA was a Big Brother Award in the category Business and Finance because when taking out health insurance is a very broad " consent for the identification, transfer and use of data " is demanded. Involvement in cycling
