United Nations Disengagement Observer Force Zone

The United Nations Disengagement Observer Force ( UNDOF ) is a contingent of troops, which was sent on 31 May 1974, the Golan Heights by Resolution 350 of the United Nations Security Council. It is one of the longest ongoing missions of the United Nations. The decision was preceded by a disengagement agreement between Syria and Israel, which had been concluded at Geneva on the same day.

Your task is to listen to this Agreement in an area that lies between the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights and the rest of Syrian territory. The area is inhabited, and is officially monitored by the Syrian police. The largest and most famous city in this area is the ruins of Quneitra. The UNDOF headquarters was located until 1994 in Damascus, then in Camp Faouar ( at AMRET al Faouar ).
