Upper Lachlan is located about 230 km southwest of the city of Sydney and 130 km northeast of the Australian capital Canberra in the south- eastern region of the state. The area includes 86 districts and towns, including Bannister, Bevendale, Biala, Bigga, Binda, Blakney Creek, Blanket Flat, Breadalbane, Broadway, Collector, Cotta Walla, Crooked Corner Crookwell, Cullerin, Dalton, Fish River, Fullerton, Glenerin, Golspie, Grabbing Gullen, Gunning, Gurrundah, Hadley, Jerrawa, Kempton, charging Vale, Laggan, Leigh Wood, Lerida, Limerick, Lost River, McAlister, Merrill, Mulgowrie, oolong, Peelwood, Pejar, Roslyn, Taralga, Thalaba, Third Creek, Tuena, Wheeo, Wiarborough, Wowagin, Yalbraith and parts of Middle Arm and Wayo. The seat of the Shire Council is located in the town of Crookwell in the center of the LGA, where about 2,000 inhabitants.

Management

The Upper Lachlan Shire Council has nine members, who are elected by the residents of the LGA. Upper Hunter is not divided into districts. From the circle of Councillor also the Mayor ( Mayor ) of the Council recruited.
