Urs Kolly

Urs Kolly ( born July 24, 1968 in Tafers, Canton of Fribourg ) is a Swiss athlete and seven -time gold medal winner at the Paralympics.

He has been running his tenth year in athletics TSV Duedingen. In 1989, he was killed in military service in the Valais as a passenger on a motorcycle and lost the lower leg on right leg. Since then he has trained with prosthesis. As the first athlete, he has not used his good leg as talus in the long jump and had so much success.

In the Summer Paralympic Games in 1992 in Barcelona Kolly won the gold medal in the discus. Since then, he has three times won the pentathlon and the long jump at the Paralympic Summer Games. Kolly today holds the world record in the pentathlon and European record holder in the long jump.

At World and European Championships, he also seven gold, five silver and five bronze medals won. In 2004 he was elected to the Swiss Disabled Athlete of the Year.

Kolly is a father of three and leads in St. Antoni since 2007, the cheese factory.
