Ursula Grabley

Ursula Margarete Marie Feodora Grabley ( born December 8, 1908 in Wolter village (near Berlin), † April 6, 1977 in Brilon) was a German actress who became known as a theater actress and by more than 60 film and television productions.

Life

The daughter of the physician Dr. Paul Ludwig Grabley and his wife Johanna Elisabeth born Rohrbeck received private lessons and attended Mädchenpensionate in Weimar and Wolfenbüttel. In Hamburg they received instruction in modern dance at the School of Rudolf von Laban and gained his first stage experience at the intimate theater.

From 1927 she worked at the Berlin Volksbühne, where she celebrated as a soubrette in the comedy Jill and Jim initial success. It was followed by other performances at Berlin theaters as the Komische Oper, the Deutsches Theater and the Theater unter den Linden.

Ursula Grabley, which corresponded to the ideas of a "Girls of Today" in 1930 with her pageboy haircut and confident - boyish behavior, also received many film offers. In leading roles or supporting roles, mostly in the genre of comedy film, she embodied the patents young woman next door. After a dispute with propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels received from 1939 only a few more rolls of film and had to be confined to the theater work.

After the war, Ursula Grabley lived in Hamburg, where she co-founded the cabaret rendezvous. She gave guest performances at the intimate theater at Willy Maertens at the Thalia Theatre and at the Youth Theatre. In the film of the 50s she played feisty mothers. Later, she knew, among other things from the television series steel mesh, Commissioner, The Old Man and Derrick. She was married from 1926 to 1941 with Viktor de Kowa. Ursula Grabley died during a theater tour after a stroke.
