Uruguay men's national volleyball team

The Uruguayan national volleyball team of men is a selection of the best Uruguayan player, the Federación Uruguaya de Voleibol represented in international tournaments and international matches.

History

World cup

In the Volleyball World Cup 1960 Uruguay finished in 13th place.

Olympic games

Uruguay has never qualified for the Olympics.

South American Championship

In the first volleyball World Grand Prix to Uruguay was beaten only hosts Brazil. Five years later succeeded in their own country the rematch and 1958 were the Uruguayans third parties. After a weaker tournament 1962 ( sixth), they took places three, four and three, before they again lost the final against Brazil as host in 1971. In the next championship, the defending champion, who then re- Fourth was missing. From 1979 to 2001 Uruguay was always there and the results varied between fourth and nine. The South American Championship 2007 ended Uruguay ranked seventh.

The World League was previously held without Uruguayan participation.
