The USS Pinckney (DDG -91 ) is a destroyer of the Arleigh Burke-class of the United States Navy. The ship is named for Cook First Class William Pinckney, of the Navy Cross was awarded for his efforts during the Battle of the Santa Cruz Islands.

History

The Pinckney was given in 1998 in order and placed in July 2001 at Ingalls Shipbuilding in Kiel. After less than a year, the destroyer was launched in May 2004, he was finally put into service.
