The USS Shiloh (CG -67) Guided Missile Cruiser is a United States Navy and is a member of the Ticonderoga class.

History

The Shiloh were given in 1987 at Bath Iron Works in order. The cruiser was laid at the shipyard of the Group in 1989 at Kiel and ran after a construction period of 13 months from the stack. The official commissioning of the ship took place in July 1992. The ship is named after the Battle of Shiloh in 1862.

Inserts of Shiloh include Operation Desert Strike, where the ship in 1996 launched 14 cruise missiles of the type BGM -109 Tomahawk against targets in Iraq, and Operation Iraqi Freedom, in which in July 2002 also cruise missiles were launched from aboard.

On 22 June of the 2006 aboard the Shiloh an SM -3, which successfully intercepted a ballistic missile that was launched from Barking Sands, Hawaii. End of the year took the cruiser with the USS Kitty Hawk (CV -63 ) participated in an exercise with the Japanese Navy. 2008 moved the Shiloh, again with the Kitty Hawk in the Western Pacific and participated in a port visit to Hong Kong. 2009 moved the Shiloh to the USS George Washington ( CVN -73) side to the Pacific. The South Korean ship was torpedoed by official investigations off the North Korean coast, a North Korean submarine is said to have carried out the attack.
