Utah State Route 12

The Utah State Route 12 - also known as A Journey through Time Scenic Byway - is a highway in Utah. It begins at Bryce Canyon Junction with U.S. Highway 89 a few miles south of Panguitch and ends east of Torrey on State Route 24 on a length of around 198 km runs it first in a southeasterly direction through the Red Canyon in Dixie National Forest. The junction of State Route 63 follows the crossing of Bryce Canyon, where the eponymous national park is touched at its northern end. Taking the road to the south, turning now runs in the valley of the Paria River and passes through the towns of Tropic and Cannon Ville. After a short, running in an easterly direction towards Henrieville the route section describes a wide arc in a northeasterly direction through the northern part of the Grand Staircase- Escalante National Monument. The villages of Escalante and Boulder be touched, the Canyon of Escalante River is crossed; the Hole- in-the- Rock Road and the Burr Trail, turn towards the east, from the Hell's Backbone Road in the north or west. North of Boulder, where the Grand Staircase- Escalante National Monument is left, follow the road north towards the eastern slope of Boulder Mountain; just before the junction with State Route 24 Fremont River is crossed.
