Uzundere

The district is located in the north of the province, bordering the province of Artvin. Until 1987 Uzundere was under the name Azort part of the district Tortum.

Mountains of the region: Ziyaret Tepe ( 2755 m), Tav Dagi ( 2,244 m ), Murat Tepe ( 2234 m), Killi Dağ ( 2530 m), Hergavur Dagi ( 2835 meters), Ak Daglar ( 3030 m), mescit Sıradağları ( 3238 m).

The city is located two kilometers east of the highway, which connects the valley of the River Tortum Artvin to the north, with the south of Erzurum. Seven kilometers south of Uzundere branches from a road in a mountain valley to the former Georgian monastery Haho nine kilometers north, a path leads to the ruined church of ÖSK Vank. The artificial Tortum lake with an area of 6.6 km ² dammed up the river until about ten kilometers north of the city.
