V-Rally

V-Rally is a racing game series of the French developer Eden Games. The first part of the series was released in 1997 in Europe under the name V-Rally. Electronic Arts bought the rights for North America in 1997 and took the game under the name of Need for Speed ​​V-Rally out. The series has been released for the PC and various consoles. The last part of the series so far, V- Rally 3, was released in September 2002.

V-Rally

The first part of the series was released in 1997 initially for the PlayStation, until 1999 there appeared a PC and a Nintendo 64 version. In this first version there were a total of ten rally cars, all with original license. The races were held on routes in eight different countries, including France, Spain and Indonesia. Especially the PC version, which received an update in relation to the PlayStation version, convinced by their graphics back then. Due to the poor control, however the game was not a great commercial success.

One of the toughest competitors of the game was published in 1998, Colin McRae Rally.

V- Rally 2

In the same year, as the PC version to V-Rally, V- Rally 2 was released for the PlayStation. As the publisher Infogrames now acquired the trademark rights to Atari, they published it under that name in Europe. For North America, Electronic Arts secured the rights back and brought the PlayStation version at the same time in North America under the name Need for Speed ​​V- Rally 2 on the market. A year later also published a version for Sega Dreamcast and PC. The Dreamcast version was in North America, the suffix Test Driver.

New features compared to its predecessor have included a multiplayer mode, improved graphics, now 17 cars, and now a total of 12 different countries in which is being driven. According to well turned out the reviews of various magazines. The second part of the series made ​​generally known.
