Vadims Vasiļevskis

Vadim Vasilevskis ( born January 5, 1982 in Riga, Latvian SSR, USSR) is a Latvian javelin thrower.

In his first international championship, the European Athletics Championships in Munich in 2002, Vasilevskis failed in qualifying.

At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, he threw in qualifying 84.43 m and increased in the final in the very first passage at 84.95 m. Andreas Thorkildsen only (NOR ) 86.50 m was achieved with a better try, so that at the end Vasilevskis won the silver medal ahead of Sergei Makarov (RUS ) with 84.84 m.

At the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 2005, he retired again in qualifying, the following year, but his first litter over the 90 - m mark he succeeded.
