Valentin de Vargas

Valentin de Vargas (* April 27, 1935 in Albuquerque, New Mexico as Albert Charles Schubert, † June 10, 2013 in Tulsa, Oklahoma ) was an American actor.

Life and career

Vargas was seen from the mid- 50s to late 90s in numerous films and series. He made his debut in 1955 in the role of a student in the school drama The Blackboard Jungle by Richard Brooks. In 1958, he starred in Orson Welles' film Touch of Evil. In 1960, he starred in The Magnificent Seven by John Sturges. These roles laid the expressive, often mysterious and demonic smiling de Vargas on the role of criminal Mexicans mostly small firm, who worked for a larger cartel or a larger band. At higher notoriety to de Vargas in 1962 the role of Luis Francisco Garcia Lopez in Howard Hawks ' film Hatari! .
