Valeriu Bordeanu

Valeriu Ionut Bordeanu ( born February 2, 1977 in Botosani ) is a former Romanian football player and current coach. The full-back played a total of 270 games in the Romanian League 1 and the Russian Premjer League. In 2009 he won the Romanian championship with Unirea Urziceni. Since December 2013 he is responsible for the FC Botosani.

Career

Player

After his youth in his home town of Botosani Bordeanu came into the squad for the first team of Piatra Neamţ Ceahlăul that his time in the highest Romanian football league, the Divizia A (now League 1) played in the fall of 1995. On 13 December 1995 he came there to its first use. After he had come only irregularly employed, left the club at the end of the season and moved into the Divizia B to Bucovina Suceava. Even in the winter break 1996/97 he joined the league rivals Politehnica Iaşi.

Although the desired ascent had been missed, the clubs Divizia A were aware of him. In summer 1999, he undertook the Romanian giants Steaua Bucharest. After Bordeanu in his first season already was a regular player, he was then only rarely. He let himself repeatedly borrow for league rivals FCM Bacau to play matches. In the summer of 2003, he finally left and moved to local rivals Steaua Rapid Bucharest. A year later he went to Russia and joined Kuban Krasnodar. In Kuban Bordeanu came but hardly used and left the club at the end of the season again already.

Bordeanu returned to Romania, where he played for Universitatea Craiova. After relegation at the end of the season 2004/ 05 he joined his former club Politehnica Iaşi, who played now in Divizia A. After the relegation had been reached previously, he moved to the winter break 2006/ 07 newly promoted Unirea Urziceni. This change proved to be a lucky Bordeanu since he came to the club to the championship in 2009 and thus his first title.

Beginning of September 2010 moved to league rivals Dinamo Bucharest Bordeanu. There he reached the Romanian Cup final and qualified for the Europa League. In the summer of 2011, he left the club again already and returned to FC Botosani in his hometown. With his new club, he rose after the 2012/13 season in the League 1. Then he ended his active career.
