Valpolicella#Grapes and wine styles

Ripasso ( literally " re- crossing ") is a wine from the Veneto. In this Valpolicella wine varietals Rondinella, Corvina Veronese, Corvinone Veronese and Molinara is still fermented a second time on the pomace of Amarone. This he takes to the typical, slightly raisin-like taste of Amarone, but is much lighter and also cheaper.

The first commodity that commercialized a Ripasso, the famous winery Masi was in the early 1980s. For a long time it was disputed whether this wine could be placed under DOC regulations to the market. Since 2009 there is a DOC wine Ripasso della Valpolicella
