Van Albada (crater)

22.92

Van Albada is an impact crater on Earth's Moon southeast of the Mare Crisium. He joins directly to the edge of the crater südsüdöstlichen Auzout. The crater Krogh lies due east and in the south-southwest is the much larger crater Firmicus.

The outline of van Albada is substantially circular with a slight bulge in the northwest. The crater wall is to the north a bit more powerful, because it is amplified at this point through the foothills of the crater Auzout. In the eastern part of a small impact crater interrupts the crater rim.

The crater floor is darker than the surrounding terrain and is similar in albedo of the Moon Sea in the northwest.

Before the Crater in 1976 by the International Astronomical Union ( IAU) received its present name, he was a ' Auzout A' known.
