Vedran Ćorluka

Vedran Ćorluka ( born February 5, 1986 in Derventa, SR Bosnia and Herzegovina, SFR Yugoslavia) is a Croatian football player. Since 2012 he is at Lokomotiv Moscow under contract.

Career

Association

At eight, he joined the youth wing of the Croatian club Dinamo Zagreb. In 2003 he completed his first professional season. In the meantime, lent him the League rival Inter Zaprešić out for a year. Back at Dinamo he was first-team regular and was with his team twice in succession Croatian Champion and one Cup Winners' Cup.

In 2007 he was taken from the Premier League club Manchester City in England under contract. Here he made in his first season 35 games. Shortly before the end of the first exchange period on 31 August 2008 it was sold for the equivalent of 13.8 million euros at Tottenham Hotspur. During the first two seasons Ćorluka regulars was at Tottenham, came in 2011, but has only 17 operations.

January 31, 2012 Ćorluka was loaned for 500,000 euros to the end of the season at Bayer 04 Leverkusen, where he made his debut under coach Robin Dutt on February 4, 2012 game against VfB Stuttgart. Due to an injury he was only seven missions. After the end of the season Ćorluka left the Bundesliga since Leverkusen opted not to go further obligation due to the high demand release Tottenham.

On June 27, 2012 it undertook the Premjer League club Lokomotiv Moscow coach Slaven Bilic below, who was his coach from 2006 to 2012 in the Croatian national team. Ćorluka signed in the Russian capital a three year contract until 30 June 2015.

National

After he went through several U- national teams, Ćorluka was 2006 at the age of 20 years, his debut for the senior national team in a friendly match against Italy (2-0).

During qualifying for the 2008 European Championships, he became one of the most important players in the team of the Croatian people and had a great share in the first place in qualifying ahead of Russia and England.

At the European Championships in 2008 Ćorluka came in all three group matches against Austria (1:0), Germany ( 2-1) and Poland (1-0 ) and in the quarter- final against Turkey ( 2:4 on penalties ) are used. 2010 designated the Turkish international Arda Turan him against whom he has ever played as the toughest opponent.

Ćorluka also took part in the 2012 European Championship and came in all three group matches against Ireland ( 3-1 ), Italy ( 1:1 ) and Spain (0-1 ) are used.
