Vehicle registration plates of Honduras

The current license plates were introduced in Honduras in 1999 and correspond in shape to the U.S. standard size as it is used in most countries of Central and South America.

The number plates have a white background and black inscription. In the background is the outline of the country, which has a different color as well as the edge of the shield according to vehicle type. The actual combination consists of a letter that defines the Vehicle closer two consecutive serial letters as well as a four digit number. About the stamping of each plate shows the Spanish -speaking slogan Cuidemos los Bosques (about: Do we care about the forests), at the bottom is the word HONDURAS, CA, where CA stands for Centro América (Central America ). On Honduran license plate can also occur, the Spanish letter Ñ. The signs are assigned by the Secretaría de Obras Públicas, Transporte y Vivienda ( SOPTRAVI ).
