Veľké Zálužie

Veľké Zálužie ( until 1948 slovak " Ujlak "; Hungarian Nyitraújlak - to 1892 Újlak ) is a municipality in western Slovakia.

Geography

It is located in the Danube hills, 12 km west of Nitra away. The R1 expressway runs along the northern edge of the town.

History

The village was first mentioned in 1261 as Wylak and originally belonged to the estate of local nobles. 1526 got the community market rights and was elevated to a town, this status was revoked in 1876 her again.
