History

Locked between Hollige and Böhme

Station Altenboitzen

Railroad crossing K118

The Verden - Walsrode Eisenbahn GmbH (RDT ) was founded as a small train Verden Walsrode GmbH, based in Verden. Nearly three-quarters of the shares took over the Prussian state and the province of Hanover; the rest spread throughout the districts of Verden and Fallingbostel and some municipalities. Later retired state and province from society. Main shareholder is now the district of Verden with 69 % of the capital next to the town of Verden, the County Heath District and the community Kirchlinteln.

On 2 March 1911, the distance between Verden and Walsrode was opened. Already on 17 December 1910, the passenger and freight traffic had been taken on the section between Verden and Altenboitzen, three days later to Vorwalsrode.

1912 150.175 people and 59 616 tonnes of goods were already promoted.

In addition to exploiting the predominantly agricultural region the dissipation of up to 1924 funded in large and small quantities of potash Häuslingen played a significant role. The loss of this cargo - and the associated revenue - they tried to thereby compensate for that one the Management Sciences - 1924 to 1959 - the country's small railway office in Hannover transferred. Because these savings, however, was not enough to put a third of the way - namely the section Mortising - Böhme - on November 2, 1936 and silently built there from the tracks.

Only after the Second World War, the position of the web is increasingly improved, including through the transport of subsidized petroleum in the area. Also, the reconstruction of the excavated section was temporarily considered. In 1959 the management was taken over by the defunct Lower Saxony State Railway Authority. However, now the passenger shifted more and more to the streets, because the continuous rail link from Verden had not been made to Walsrode again. On 2 March 1931, the company took its first scheduled motor vehicle in operation. Thus, the continuous movement between Verden and Walsrode was restored.

On 30 May 1964, the rail passenger transport on the eastern Bohemian Walsrode ( line number 9141 ) and on 27 September 1969, the western part of Verden - caulking ( line number 9140 ) was completely replaced by the railway-owned buses. The freight Walsrode Böhme took over in 1970, the German Federal Railroad. The infrastructure was here to be the VWE. The VWE also made shunting in Verden and Nienburg railway stations. The VWE is a member of the railway network Bremen- Lower Saxony.

Since 1996, the industrial railway locomotives Bomlitz sided on behalf of DBAG freight transport since 2002 locomotives of the OHE and other EPCs. Freight transport is served only until Hollige, traffic Altenboitzen - Böhme was stopped in 1990, the section Hollige - Altenboitzen is locked operational since 1 January 2008. The crossings with the K114 and K118 are county roads between Boehme and Altenboitzen already no longer exists, the route is covered in this area already thick with vegetation.

Various utility companies loaded softwood in the stations Hollige and Vorwalsrode for the pulp and paper industry. The entrance to the DB station Walsrode takes place on the main signal ( Hp0/Hp2 ), so the dispatcher in Walsrode (interlocking BCF ) has the intended train ride offered in Vorwalsrode. In Vorwalsrode also the only technically secure railroad crossing is located on the stretch Walsrode Böhme. It is the highway 190 crossed.

At the beginning of 2011, the VWE announced that they stretch the Bohemian Hollige (km 25.2 - km 30.670 ) would like to comment. The tender period ran from 15 January to 16 April 2011.

The museum railway traffic

Western route section

The foundation of Verden railway enthusiasts eV took place on 20 March 1989. Initially it was planned to build a museum railway operating on the former DB's Verden - Rethem, so they chose as home to the train station sleeves on this route. But soon, they decided to take because of the pending closure of the route, negotiations with the Verden - Eisenbahn GmbH Walsrode on the use of the 12 km long narrow gauge railway track Verden -South caulking. After successful completion of the negotiations of the e of the steam railway Weser Uplands V. were acquired museum train, consisting of the former VWE - 241 diesel (now V 11) and three railcar trailers, transferred to Verden. However, the old Deutz- Diesel got no operating license. As a replacement vehicle, the VWE Diesel DL2 ( Gmeinder, built in 1947) was rented. The henceforth referred to as V 20 Lok then moved from 1993, the museum trains. To her already joined at the same time, the diesel V 22 "Magdeburg ", a former East German small locomotive of type V 22 V 22 The mixture was worked up to act as a substitute for the oil under main study V 20. When the V was lost 20 in 2000, now belonging to the railway friends, she was reinstated as Planlok. Since then, even the train image has changed, the railcar trailer dodged cars with end platforms. Commissioning of the " blunderbuss " (operating point 1 ) in 2005 finally made the use of the last railcar trailer TA 10 superfluous. This left Verden in early 2006 to do henceforth as reinforcement vehicle at the Lüneburg railway enthusiasts (AVL) service.

The first years of the Museum Railway Association were shaped by it, to restore the acquired vehicles and back to operation. Also, there was a consolidation of the fleet, which had the consequence that some vehicles the museum train also left again. The now existing fleet shows approximately what was traveling on narrow gauge railways in the 50s of the last century. Today, the volunteer working retail workers have four diesel locomotives, a diesel railcar, three passenger cars, a van and four freight cars and a hand lever trolley. Of course, not all vehicles are ready for use, a diesel locomotive is in the Restoration, another is operational. The railcar is currently being worked up, two people, one freight and a van and trolley are in active use inventory to trippers, cyclists and railway enthusiasts with growing success in the tranquil pace through the Verden and Kirchlintelner landscape to convey. Here, the museum web has become an important tourism factor. In addition to the vehicles, and the stations were worked. The platforms along the route were built according to historical model, the restored Stemmer station building and many a jewel as a notice board of the former narrow-gauge railway Verden Walsrode GmbH or an enamel sign Mauxion Chocolate was worked up and can be visited today. Thus, the Railway Museum is also a tourist railway and a kind of stationary museum and shows how then light railway, village and county town formed a well-functioning structure.

In 2007, the renaming of the association took place in Verden Eisenbahnfreunde small train Verden Walsrode eV
