Veronica Cartwright
Veronica Cartwright ( born April 20, 1949 in Bristol, England) is a British actress.
Life
Cartwright made his debut as a child in the war drama Hell, where is your sting from the year 1958. Drama The Children's Hour (1961 ) she played alongside Audrey Hepburn and Shirley MacLaine. In Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds in 1963 she had her first starring role as a small Rod Taylor's sister Cathy burner. In the horror film of the Body Snatchers (1978 ) she played alongside Donald Sutherland.
In the SF- horror film Alien - The sinister creature from another world (1979 ) Cartwright played the role of Lambert, the next Ellen Ripley ( Sigourney Weaver) second female member of the crew of the spaceship Nostromo. For this role she won the Saturn Award in 1980 and was nominated in 2004 for the DVD Exclusive Award. For her role in the horror comedy The Witches of Eastwick (1987 ) she was nominated for the 1988 Saturn Award. In the years 1998 and 1999 she appeared in several episodes of the television series The X-Files, for which she was nominated in two years for the Emmy Award. In 2005, she won for her role in the comedy Straight-Jacket (2004) the Glitter Award. In addition, it was for I do not feel like dancing to see in the music video of the Scissor Sisters.
Cartwright is married to the director Richard Compton and has one child. Her sister is the actress Angela Cartwright.
