Veteris

Veteris, also Vitiris, Hveteris and other variations, is the name of a Celtic deity who is in over 50 inscriptions known from the area of Hadrian's rampart in northern England. There is no interpretatio romana, but the Celtic name is once in Netherby (North Yorkshire ) named along with Mogon.

The nominations take place both in the singular and in the plural, often occurring Additional DEO or Dibus leaves a male god suspect in two inscriptions from Concangis (now Chester -le-Street, County Durham ), The Roman Inscriptions of Britain ( RIB) 1047 and The Roman Inscriptions of Britain ( RIB) 1048 to accept a female deity. The localities along Hadrian's rampart indicate a worship by the Roman legions stationed there.
