Vhembe is a district within the province of Limpopo in South Africa. He has 1,294,722 inhabitants (as of 2011) on a total area of 21,407 km ². Seat of the district administration is Thohoyandou.
The district name is the name of the Limpopo River in the languages Xitsonga and Tshivenda.
Since 2009 the area has been designated a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
