Victor A. Vyssotsky

Victor A. Vyssotsky ( born February 26, 1931 † December 24, 2012, Orleans ( Massachusetts)) was a mathematician and computer scientist and was born as a son of Alexander N. Vyssotsky and mathematician Emma TR Williams ( namesake of the asteroid Vyssotsky 1600).

He has worked in the Multics project along with Robert Morris Sr., Douglas McIlroy with which the computer game Darwin invented. In this game, several computer programs compete against each other. Recent virus developers used the same technique to develop viruses. Even if the Multics project was hardly successful, but it inspired Ken Thompson to develop Unix.
