Victor Farías

Víctor Farías ( born May 4, 1940 in Santiago de Chile) is a Chilean German scholar and publicist.

Farías studied philosophy and German literature at the Catholic University in his hometown and went in the sixties to Freiburg. At the Albert -Ludwigs- University of Freiburg, he completed on November 30, 1967 by G. Schmidt and Bernhard Lakenbrink his doctoral thesis on the philosophy of Franz Brentano and then returned to his homeland. When Augusto Pinochet staged a coup on 11 September 1973 at the head of the military junta to power, left Farías Chile and taught from 1974 at the Latin American Institute of the Free University of Berlin.

Large media attention received his books on the philosopher Martin Heidegger, as well as the Socialist Party of Chile and the socialist politician Salvador Allende, in which he raises in each case, among other allegations of Nazi sympathizer shaft. He got by some media for it with great approval, but allegations of side - tendentious reasoning and forgeries were targeted by some other authors against his books collected. In response to Farías books were, for example, the Spanish Fundación Presidente Allende Allende original documents freely on the Internet, which corroborated the allegations of forgery against Farías.

In 2010 he taught at the Universidad Nacional Andrés Bello private in Chile.
