Víctor Muñoz

Víctor Muñoz Manrique ( born March 15, 1957 in Zaragoza, Spain ) is a Spanish football manager and former football player. Most recently, he was standing by the Swiss first division club FC Sion under contract.

Career

Víctor Muñoz began his professional career as a football player in 1976 in his native city, the resident club Real Zaragoza. In 1981 he moved to FC Barcelona where he was under contract seven years. In 1988 he moved to Italy to Sampdoria and was one of the first Spaniards who moved to Serie A. 1990 Muñoz finally returned to Real Zaragoza before the FC St. Mirren in Scotland ended his career in 1991.

With the Spanish national team in its role in the midfield Muñoz participated in the 1980 Olympic Games, the World Championships in Spain in 1982 and in Mexico in 1986 and the European Championships in 1984 in France and 1988 in Germany part. Muñoz came with the national team on 60 missions and scoring three goals.

In 1995, Muñoz first time as coach and signed a two -year contract with RCD Mallorca. In the following years he coached the teams Logroñés CD, UE Lleida and Villarreal before moving to Real Zaragoza 2004. With Zaragoza Muñoz won the first title of his coaching career and remained there until 2006. From October 2006 to May 2007, he stood by the Greek club Panathinaikos Athens under contract and reached there with the club the final of the Greek Cup club. As of 2007, coached the Spanish side Recreativo Huelva Muñoz. On 4 February 2008, he was released after the 1-2 home defeat of his team against Sevilla FC. For the 2008/09 season he was coach of FC Getafe. From September 2011 he coached the Swiss club Neuchatel Xamax. His engagement there ended in January 2012, after Xamax the license had been revoked and the first club later filed for bankruptcy little. From the beginning of the season in January 2013, he led FC Sion, but was taken off after three rounds as a coach, but do not dismiss as its successor, the player-coach Gennaro Gattuso, the necessary license is missing. He was the fourth coach of the season 2012/13 at Wallis football club.
