Victor Pickard

Victor Pickard (Victor Willoughby " Vic" Pickard, born October 23, 1903 in Hamilton, † January 11, 2001 in Miami, United States) was a Canadian pole vaulter and javelin throwers.

At the Olympic Games in Paris in 1924, he was fifth in the pole vault with 3.80m and was eliminated in the javelin out in qualifying.

Four years later he was defeated in the pole vault the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam in the jump-off for the bronze medal the Americans Charles McGinnis and was fourth with 3.95m. The following year he presented on February 18 in an indoor competition in New York City with 4.21 meters his personal best. In the British Empire Games in Hamilton in 1930 he won the gold medal in the pole vault.

Five times he was Canadian champion in the pole vault (1923, 1926, 1928-1930 ) and twice in the javelin (1924, 1926).
